Our site is built on a simple idea: World of Warcraft is a game played by real people, and those people deserve clear and friendly help. Our History and the Humanade Mission
Gabe Webb started this project because he saw that the game was becoming too hard for many people to follow. In 2004, when the game first launched, the community was small and people helped each other. As the years passed, the game grew and became more competitive. Many websites started using hard math and cold data that felt like a second job. Gabe wanted to bring back the feeling of a helpful community.
The name Humanade comes from two words: “Human” and “Aid.” Our mission is to be a help station for every player in Azeroth. We have twenty years of experience in the game, and we use that knowledge to make your journey easier. We do not work for a big corporation. We are a small group of veterans who love the game and want to see other players succeed. We focus on “Human-made” content because we believe a real person understands your struggles better than a machine ever could.
What We Do for the WoW Community
We provide a wide range of tools and information to help you enjoy World of Warcraft more. Our team spends hundreds of hours every month testing the game so you do not have to. Here is what you can find on our site:

Our “People First” Philosophy
We believe that your time is valuable. Many players have jobs, families, and other duties outside of the game. We write our guides for the person who only has a few hours a week to play. We do not believe in “elitist” rules that make the game feel like a chore. Our philosophy is to put people first in everything we do.
We avoid using hard words or confusing terms. We get straight to the facts that help you win. We also believe in being honest. If a new system in the game is bad for the players, we will say so. We are here to be your voice and your advocate. We want to make Azeroth a place where everyone can have fun, regardless of their skill level or how much time they have to play.
